June 24, 2024Nyaboke is in Form 2 (10th grade) in a boarding High School.
The family has been facing very difficult times since her father disappeared from the home leaving their mother to fend for Nyaboke and her two siblings. Their mother has tried her best to provide for them but her efforts have been unsuccessful due to inability to get a stable job. They survive on menial casual jobs their mother gets once in a while.
Peldine performed well in her class 8 (Grade 8) exam despite the harsh living conditions at home. Unfortunately, there was no money for her to proceed to secondary school. Fortunately, with support from the Florah and Johnston foundation, she was enrolled in High school where she continues to do well, despite lack of support from her absent father. The family doesn’t know where he is.
Nyaboke’s dream is to become a pilot and she’s working very hard in school with this in mind. With your financial support, we can continue to help her stay in school and achieve her dream. We would also like to be able to support the education of her siblings and need your help to this end. Her eldest Sister Bridgit was supposed to go to Form 3 (11th grade) this year but has not reported to school yet as her mother cannot afford to pay the fees. The family lives in the slums of Nairobi, it’s not a safe environment for a young girl to be idle in.
