Clarion is an orphan living in rural Kenya with her grandmother who is over 80 years old.
She is in form 3 (Grade 11), quiet and soft spoken.
Her grandmother cares for many other grandchildren and their household struggles to make ends meet as she has no fixed income but depends largely on subsistence farming.
She is doing her best in school despite living in a challenging home environment where many times she’s not able to get textbooks or to study as there is not enough money to buy paraffin to keep the lamp burning.
