June 26, 2024Centrine is in grade 6, Bethelee grade 2 and Joshua is now in Kindergarten
These three siblings have been abandoned by their father who will have nothing to do with them. He won’t visit them or help pay for any of their upkeep. Their mother works part time as she goes to vocational school and with the little money she makes from the part time job is able to just pay for their food and other basic needs. Before the foundation stepped in to help pay their school fees, Centrine, Bethelee and Joshua were regularly being sent away from school due to unpaid fees. It became the normal way of life for them such that Centrine was surprised when they didn’t get sent away from school (after the foundation took up fee payment for them). She asked her mother, “how is it that these days we don’t get sent away from school for lack of fees?”.
It is notable that their academic performance in school has improved markedly since they are now able to attend classes regularly without interruption. Joshua did so well his first term in Pre-K that his teachers had him skip Pre-K and go right on to Kindergarten where he continues to excel. They are proving to be very smart kids and the future ahead looks quite promising for them now.
