Catherine Ashene Troolin
Founder

Catherine’s journey into the world of Education support started 20 years ago when a friend asked her to pay high school fees for a student in the ministry the friend was running for “at risk” girls living in the slums of Nairobi. At the time, Catherine was herself a student in college, but by putting aside a little cash each month, she was able to support this student to successful completion of high school. This student has since gone on to complete two Diplomas (Early Childhood and Special Education) and is currently pursuing a degree in Early child hood education, thus confirming that Education support helps to break the cycle of poverty and give hope for a better future to students living under the poverty line.
This experience made Catherine realize that anyone can help make a difference - you don’t have to be super rich to help change the trajectory of someone else’s life. It also proved true the Swahili saying “Kidogo Kidogo Hujaza Kibaba” (little by little the big water jar gets filled). Catherine was thus inspired to set up this Education Foundation so that through the funds raised, many more students can be supported to complete school, and in this way provide them access to multiple opportunities to better their lives.
